Christmas

Santa Loses his Memory by Naoise Hopkins

One foggy Christmas Eve at Dublin Airport, a man named Richard Robertson was about to get on a plane because he was going to Florida to spend Christmas. But the engine broke down and the plane was going to crash. Luckily Richard found a parachute and sky dived out of the plane before it was about to explode. When he made a safe landing, he found out he was lost at the North Pole.

Meanwhile at Santa's workshop, Santa was putting up decorations on his roof when suddenly he accidentally slipped on the top of his workshop and fell to the ground. When Richard found him, he found out he had lost his memory. He agreed with Santa that he would deliver all of the presents for him around the world in one whole night.

As Richard took off in Santa’s sleigh and made his first flight, he felt like he was flying like Superman “The man of Steel”.After delivering presents to all the boys and girls in America and Europe, he reached to his final destination, Canada. Meanwhile, a young naughty 9 year old boy named Conrad Chester was hacking on naughtyornice.com pointing out that he had been good all year. Richard found out about this on his naughty or nice detector and was about to land on his roof. But there was an error, the truth was he had been naughty all year long. So he skipped his house. The next morning Conrad woke up and found out he got no presents.

On Christmas Day the next morning, Santa got his memory back and he, Mrs Claus and the elves thanked Richard for saving Christmas. Then they gave him an enormous present. It was a plane that automatically sends him to countries like his dream country Florida. This was Richards best Christmas ever.

Cookie Crumble by Cathal Gielty

Isaac and Scarlet were watching a Christmas movie. Isaac wasn’t a fan of Christmas. He was thirteen and Scarlet was nine. They were drinking some eggnog.

Suddenly the power went out Isaac ran over to the window and saw all the darkened houses. He sat down beside Scarlet and then a vortex sucked them through the television. They woke up on the floor they get up at exactly the same time. HO HO HO they turned their heads and Scarlet ran and hugged Santa Claus. Isaac looked around and saw all the elves all in darkness just like the houses. Isaac asked "What's with the elves?" The cookie clipper machine is broken. The elves will never eat cookies again unless you help Mrs Claus find parts all around the North Pole.Their bodies were dissolving they both screamed.

Isaac and Scarlet were stuck in a frosty wasteland with Mrs Claus. They were handed woolly clothing and were wandering around a polar bear jumped from the snow and attacked Isaac. Scarlet hit the polar bear with a snowball and surprisingly it knocked it out. In the snow it was a part of the heater of the cookie clipper. There were five parts all together to make the magic cookie machine. They set out to find more. Next stop was the South Pole they had to fight King Penguin to get the 3 next parts Mrs Claus, Isaac and Scarlet built a snow fort and were laying down snowballs but were ineffective. Isaac found a chest with a fish in it he threw it at the king fish and knocked it out weirdly enough and they found the 3 parts next up was the lord narwhal. they got a fishing rod to get food but instead the got Lord Narwhal and killed it, They kinda felt bad anyway the got all the parts and went back to Santa and they fixed the machine. Christmas was saved thanks to Isaac and Scarlet.

Christmas is Cancelled   by Mohammad Elmahi                                                                                                                              Peeking out the window my eyes widened in delight . The whole garden below me was covered in a blanket of snow .  I leapt  out of my bed and skidded down the hallway in my bare feet calling out to my brothers “Its snowing its snowing”. All of a sudden I sensed  something  was not quite right . A deafening silence was ringing through the house. Then I saw it. It flashed across the screen in big bold letters . NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

“What do you mean Christmas is cancelled this year”? I exclaimed to my mum who  had rushed into the room to see what all the commotion was about. I listened carefully as she explained to me that my worst nightmare was slowly becoming a reality. I couldn’t understand how anyone could cancel the most magical time of the year. But there it was in front of my very own eyes as Enda Kenny tried to make excuses for his decision. Enda Scrooge was what I would know that man as from now on.

As I slowly made my way into the schoolyard, small groups  were gathered in every corner and all I could hear were the words “ Cancelled,   Christmas “. This could not be happening . My eyes searched the yard for my friends. Suddenly I saw them huddled over the corner as I made my way towards them I could already tell they were as disappointed as me. None of us knew what to say and just at that moment  the bell rang  and we slowly made our way into the classroom.

After school I gathered my gang of friends once again and told them in a firm voice “ We need a plan and fast”.It was Cathal’s brain wave that caught my attention. The plan was very quickly set in stone. That night we decided we would go into the town of Castlebar and kidnap Enda Kenny or should I say Enda Scrooge. We weren’t going to let him get away so lightly. As the clock struck midnight we parked our go-karts up underneath the bright, twinkling lights of the Mall. Once we had all revised the plan we scrambled off and headed towards the Pontoon Road . We safely made it through the first two sets of traffic lights  but as we approached the third a funny feeling that we were being followed  started to enter my mind.

I glanced over my shoulder but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Pedaling faster I tried to catch up with others ahead. All of a sudden I could hear a car coming closer and closer. I started to think that it could just be my imagination so I kept on going. Suddenly the car pulled up right in front of us and there before my eyes were our parents. I knew by the look in their eyes that it was all over - so much for trying to save Christmas!

Snow in Dubai by Donnacha McHugh

It was a dark horrible day. The wind was blowing a hurricane. It was pouring rain. I sat in my old small sitting room looking at the miserable day. There was only one week until Christmas. My Dad had gone to work in Australia in June. He couldn't make it back for Christmas. All of a sudden my mum came down the stairs shouting “Yippee Yippee”. I asked her why she was so happy. She proudly announced “We have won a competition to go to Australia  for Christmas. I leapt out of my seat. I was as happy as Larry.  I rang Dad straight away and told him the good news. He was ecstatic. My mum told me we were leaving in four days. I started packing my suitcase straight away.

We went to Australia on the Tuesday. It was a miserable day, but I didn’t care. Nothing could ruin this day. Our flight was leaving at 8:30. We had to be there at 6:30. We pulled up at the airport at 7:00. We found out are flight had been delayed until 9:00. I still didn’t mind but I was happy when they told us our flight was boarding now. My mum and I got onto the plane straight away in order to get a good seat.

As I walked into the giant green plane my jaw nearly touched the floor because of the size of it. There were black leather seats that reclined. We all got a free dinner because it was such a long journey. As I relaxed watching a movie I must have dozed off because next thing I remember I woke up in Bangkok. The plane had stopped there to refuel. We took off again shortly after. The plane stopped in Dubai to refuel again. I got a lovely roll while we were waiting. An hour passed we were still waiting to board. Finally I heard those magic words “The flight from Ireland to Australia is boarding now”. We got on straight away. The plane was delayed because of snow on the runway. This was a very rare occurrence as it  doesn't usually snow in Dubai. It was 13 hours from Dubai to Australia.

We arrived in the airport at 2:00 am on Christmas Eve. My dad was waiting there to collect us. It was still 20 degrees even though it was night time. My dad was a tall thin man with silk black hair. He drove a black B.M.W. His house was around 15 minutes from the beach. I went straight to bed after we got back from the airport. I kept tossing and turning in my bed with excitement.

I woke  my parents up at 7:00. I moved quickly down the stairs as my parents moved slowly down them. I had asked Santa for a PS4 and Fifa 15.  I tore open the present. Inside it was a PS4 and Fifa 15. The present my dad had got me was massive. I ripped it open, it was a surfboard. This was an ideal present as my dads house overlooked Bondi Beach. I played my dad in Fifa. I beat him every time.  I went down to the beach for a surf before dinner. I wasn’t very good I fell off my board a lot. As I sat on the beach sunbathing I heard my phone ringing. It was my mum telling me that dinner was ready.

As I walked into the house the smell of dinner cooking was mouth-watering. I left my board in the utility and took a seat at the table. We had king prawn cocktails for the starter. They were delicious. For the main course we had roast turkey and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were to die for. We had roasted carrots. broccoli and cauliflower. Our dessert was the most delicious part of the meal, profiteroles with mint ice-cream on the side.

After we had eaten our dinner and finished cleaning up. We headed down to the annual Bondi Beach Christmas party. There was a limbo competition. The final ended up being me vs my dad. I won in the end. There was a huge stage on the beach. There were many famous music artists that performed such as Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams and Bruce Springsteen. The best performer of the night was an Elvis Presley impersonator. He wasn’t very good at singing but he was a great entertainer. We headed home at 1:00 am.

The next day my dad brought us into the city of Sydney. He showed me many famous landmarks such as Sydney Opera house and Sydney Harbour Bridge. I bought some games for my PS4 while we were there.

We went home the next day.

What a good Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

North War by Jack Duggan
I was hoping to wake up to a Christmas with my family but I wasn’t that lucky. I woke up instead to be greeted by a muscular man in a military suit with a rifle in his hand. You would know him as Santa Claus he told me about the disaster that occurred. Some Elves had been exposed to radiation. They had turned into some kind of mutants that eat flesh and organs and when they do you turn to! BEEP BEEP BEEP!

What the hell is that!I asked. He looked out the window and said:”We got reindeer on our tail take this.” He handed me a assault rifle an M16 with a suppressor and iron sights then we shot them down. As we reached our destination I saw tons of Elves with guns.

I knew what to do.I was told to kill all of the Elves with red clothing and help the ones in green. I ran in and closed my eyes I don't know why so then I find out that I killed more of the green Elves or the red Elves.Soon we needed to fall back to the toy factory. We covered all the entrances but we didn't get far. Only some of us survived but that is a different story.

Goldilocks the Robber By Kamil Jodkiewicz
Once opon a time there was a little girl named ‘Goldilocks’. Everyday in winter she walked through a very snowy forest. It seemed as normal as any other forest, but on the 29th day of walking she spotted a small house in the distance. As she came closer to the house, it wasn’t small anymore. It turned out to be very big

Like a spy, Goldilocks opened the wooden door ajar, look in with one eye and saw a seven feet tall bear saying “Raror ra ror rir” or something like that. A second later, she sprinted behind the nearest tree with an unplanned scream. Papa Bear came out to look if anyone was there, but he didn’t spot Goldilocks.

For the next few days she started spying on them to see how those bears live. On Christmas morning, she looked into the house from the living room window as Little Bear opened his present. Incredibly, it was Goldilocks’ dream present. She ran to her little house to plan how to get that present. After three hours of planning her final idea was that when the bear went out of their house she’d sneak in and take it.

The next day she waited one hour, two hours, three hours and during the forth she saw the bears coming back to their house and thought “Dam! they weren’t at home all that time. She tried again two days later and this time she got in, just when the bear family disappeared over a hill around a hundred metres from the house.

While Goldilocks was in the house for some reason Papa Bear turned around towards the house leaving Mama Bear and Little Bear. Just as Goldilocks was closing the door Papa Bear saw her with the present in her hands and started roaring and running after her. It wasn’t long until he caught her and grabbed the present out of her hands.

Then she cried out loud “I’ll never get a present like that!”.
Christmas by James Swift

It was Christmas Eve and I was in the supermarket buying presents for all my relatives. Through all the hustle and bustle I came across a turkey with a price tag for €10.Tossing it into the trolley I collected a few other essential items along the way.

The door opened just before I reached it and I saw my Mum standing in the doorway. “Thank God you’re back, I thought you would never arrive.”She said as she took the items from myself. I closed the door as it started snowing and turned around to see my granny standing in front of me. “Merry Christmas” she said handing me a wrapped book-shaped gift. I opened it revealing a copy of season 27 of The Simpsons. That night I watched all fifteen episodes and was in bed and asleep by 1o’clock.

The next morning I woke up and walked downstairs to see my brothers building some Lego and watching tele. “ Watcha buildin.”I asked them. There was no reply so it looked like they were deep in their work. I looked under the tree but there was only a pair of socks for me.

My Mum was looking at the turkey when I walked into the kitchen. “James, where did you get this turkey?”She asked . “Tesco.”I replied. My mum then explained to me that it was only a plastic display turkey and that somebody must have put an old price tag on it. We then only had ham for dinner. We turned around to see Pickles our dog sitting on the table beside the plate where the ham used to be. He then let out a short BURP! “Now we only have veg.”Said Mum pushing Pickles.off of the table. Mum then opened the freezer and pulled out a pack of fish fingers.

That evening when Mum was about to cook the fish fingers she realised that she was out of gas. So we had to pull out the barbeque, but everyone was happy in the end.
